Major League Baseball New York, NY Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment • Strong analytical skills, technical accounting proficiency, effective problem-solving skills and strong ability to interpret accounting information/reports • Ability to work under pressure and cultivate and develop key relationships • Strong oral and written communication skills are required along with the ability to effectively interface with external contacts, internal management, and accounting and finance team Responsibilities • Staff Accountant essential functions include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation of journal entries, generating invoices, preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with various financial reporting requirements • The Staff Accountant is also responsible for other accounting, financial and administrative tasks Prepare journal entry support • Assist various MLB entities with accounts payable and prepare related bank reconciliations • Assist with day to day accounts receivable activities including drafting bills for international broadcast, publishing and productions • Assist with reconciliations of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts • Assist with the financial close within the accounting system • Collect data from various foreign offices • Reporting & Audit • Prepare analyses and reporting of financial data at the end of each month • Assist with the dissemination of information to the auditors • Assist with preparation of the audited financial statements Benefits • Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 • In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees • MLB offers employees a full range of best in class benefits with no employee contributions towards medical, dental, and vision coverage premiums, as well as incentive and recognition programs, life insurance and automatic employer 401k contributions Benefits • Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 • In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees Full-time Health insurance Dental insurance Job description Staff Accountant essential functions include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation of journal entries, generating invoices, preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with various financial reporting requirements.
