The Sheriff is a constitutional officer and the chief law enforcement officer in the County. The Sheriff is responsible for keeping the peace within Barron County. The Office of Sheriff is truly a broad based organization. There are several statutory responsibilities of a Sheriff that encompass a wide range of services. The Patrol and Jail Operations are the two most commonly associated with any Sheriff’s Office. Other services that the Sheriff’s Department provides that are less known by the general public but just as vital include: Serving Civil Process Court Security Transportation of Inmates Recreational Safety Patrol Crime Prevention Drug Enforcement Criminal Investigation Public Education It has been my privilege to lead the Barron County Sheriff’s Department since August of 2008.
